You might consider logging onto Ironclad Online and trying to chat with people, perhaps asking if anyone is hosting an STA3 game or even hosting your own with the name of the mod in the title. Maybe people will join your game, who knows. I'm pretty sure that various version of that mod are played online. Couldn't hurt to go to where the online players are if you want to find people to play with.

Your in the EU, I have in my friend list that plays armada 3. And has told me he plays online.
Take a look at my profile friends list, and look for T/4 Epler [29ID], an send him a invite as a friend, then you two can talk.
The Mod that i just installed is Sacrifice of Angel 2. I'll get armada 3 next.
