Solution - Dealing with OneDrive for Mods
So, I've run into a problem with my mod folder being forcibly created in my OneDrive, and therefore my mods fill up the onedrive. I've done some research, and the best answer to solving the problem seems to be linking folders, but like most commenters on those guides, I keep getting errors with creating the link.

So, here's what my solution is, and hopefully this helps others:

Instead of change the Mod folder location, change the OneDrive folder.
Personally, I don't use Onedrive, so this worked perfectly for me, but I'm not sure how it affects people who do use it actively. Important thing is nothing gets deleted from your computer doing this. I'm not as confident about the cloud files.

This may or may not be the most effective way, but it works:
1) Deactivate Onedrive.
2) Reactivate Onedrive. When you are asked to login, there's an option to change the onedrive location. Change it to another drive.
3) The original onedrive folders still exist on C drive, but no longer synced up, and the game stays linked to the C folders, and the new onedrive works perfectly on your other drive (for me, D).

I'm certainly not an expert on writing guides, so, if you have any questions, please let me know and I'll do my best to help.

Yarlen, could you add the mod path to the ini file so it is configurable?

I cannot since this is Ironclad's game, but I'll make a note of it in case they decide to patch again.

Sounds great, thanks Yarlen

This is a really strange folder to put your mods in, when it should be this path - C:\Users\<name of the PC>\Documents\My Games\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion\Mods-Rebellion v1.85.
If OneDrive is used as storage, then just put the zip files in, but this won't be effective due to mod updates.

The problem is that there doesn't seem to be any way to change the default mod path for SINS, which directs it to the oneDrive folder.

From where and how do you download the mods? Don't you use this path: https://www.moddb.com/mods?filter=t&kw=&released=&genre=&theme=&players=&timeframe=&game=14342 -> a mod https://www.moddb.com/mods/stargate-races ->then download the archive https://www.moddb.com/mods/stargate-races/downloads/stargate-races-r106 -> extract the archive into the mod folfer ?

Also, are you useing Edge? If you do, check where it saves the downloads and change its path, if not - use Chrome.

Ah, I think there's a miscommunication. The problem isn't where the mods are being downloaded. The problem is that SINS has a default modpath it uses to access the mod files, and there is no way to change that modpath as far as I and a lot of others can tell.

Ok... then you should write a ticket to Stardock.

One drive made this experience so sour for me, thanks for this
