ally turning against me even though i have the max relationship
Im not even sure why as I helped where I could and I did very little to cause issues and I even maxed out dimplomacy research to make sure I wasnt lacking in something

next thing I know hes sending fleets from all his systems straight at mine....

I'm pretty sure it happens to everyone, it happened to me the first time, and i had to google it. You'd think allied victory would be the default...

Happened to me.

Interesting side note, I have played MULTIPLE space/RTS/Strategy games, where something similar happens. Usually BEFORE you "wipe out the last enemy".

Makes me wonder if there is some "off the shelf" trash AI code devs buy (Like they do graphics assets sometimes) and it just says "hey, if human ally is particularly weak, or particularly strong make sure you corn hole them"

But yes, in this instance, it is definitely the "allied victory" wasn't checked, and its happened to all of us.

Did he turn on you when you destroyed the last enemy faction? That happens when you don't have the victory condition: "Allied Victory" enabled, to allow you to win as a team. If it's disabled when the last enemy is defeated your team will break apart to determine the last man standing.

keep your enemy close, but your friends closer! so you can stab em before they might betray you D:

It's because this game sucks and has broken mechanics. It's worse every time I load it up and try to play it. :blight:

Putting starbases on all their planets before you're forced to fight each other is a fun tactic.
