Star Trek Armada 3 Mod, 2 in 1?
Firstly I'm sorry if this is in the wrong subsection, maybe it goes under Unofficial Support?

Anyway, I'm new to this mod and am wondering if there is a difference between Nemesis and The Final Frontier. Are they separate mods in the same package? Do I use one, or both at the same time? If both, does it matter which one I activate, first?

As a separate issue, I tried it having used both enabled, but I can't see unique icons for ships as was described on the moddb page, so I'm wondering if things are janky from the way I've installed the mod(s).

As for your original question OP, there IS a difference between TFF and Nemesis. The former gives you all of the content that the devs have made, and the games can add a lot of PvE type challenges, to run with your typical PvP game.

Nemesis cuts down on those changes and reduces the amount of RNG you'll face, for a more balanced and competitive game. (Reduced chances of getting screwed over by a map or random encounter)

You'll find instructions on how to enable the different mods on the website, I think on the download pages.

Haven't had much luck with which one to use either. I'm wanting one from the DS9 era so I got what I thought I needed but the mod literature for install and overall order is lacking.

Hi, I'm now 15+ hours into playing STA 3, I'm playing Fed. Vs Klingon an Borg.all on hard. I to don't yet know the difference yet. I went with Nemesis tell I can fig it out. You should do the same, because Nemesis will blow you away while you work on which. You will also be learning something about the Mod, the ships, (many new ones), an the mechanics on how the mod runs.
Try to max all the many research thats open to you.
I talked to someone on my friends list that has some time playing Nemeisi. an he said to beat the Borg you will need 3 Allies locked an have them all a Hard.
In your in game Mod screen some how there are other files that did nothing when I tryed to enable it. Don't know why, or why they are even there, but if one works I just leave them there.

No, all my icons are new ships designs, most I remmber from TV show or movies. Theres a few new never seen before.

Thanx for the info on the icons. And, everything else you stated seems to add up with whatever other information I could find on the matter.

Works fine for me right now. ModDB has a hotfix if you need it. Not sure why mine didn't break.

Roll back to 1.91 on the steam game properties / beta tab.

The Mod Devs apparently released an update. If you do the rollback, you won't have access to the game's online service. Rollback is still necessary for other mods, tho.

Can confirm the mod dev did release an update patch through ModDB to address the GDPR patch.

If you do the rollback, you won't have access to the game's online service. Rollback is still necessary for other mods, though, unless they address this new patch, as well.

After having played both, I feel like at least for Solo play, Nemesis is harder than The Final Frontier. I've been steamrolled by the AI several times in Nemesis on just normal difficulty, but I have no problems when I run The Final Frontier. Is it just me, or did I run into a string of bad luck and strategy?

Normal for me has been relatively easy. I like this mod quite the bit. My biggest complaint is that the icons are a bit hard to see compared to the stock images in the vanilla version. After playing the Cardassians for awhile, I got used to it but I'd have liked them to brighten up the icons a bit and have a better description set of what some of the techs do.
