Ironclad Games Folder
I want to do a clean wipe of all data related to Sins of a Solar Empire and do a clean reinstall of everything, including the "User\Documents\My Games\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion" folder. I recently deleted it manually, opened up the launch window, and it prompted me to recreate that folder. It did not work; the folder remained nonexistent. I believe my game can no longer "see" that folder even after replacing it.

Similarly, I cannot launch the game. At all. I have heard that a fix is to edit or delete the settings folder, but since that file is in the Ironclad Games folder and the game no longer recognizes it, that doesn't work.

And I have no active mods currently. In the past I have had difficulty installing mods, but I was still able to play the game a few months back. For the past few weeks, it does not work. I was able to briefly get into the game, but it crashed when I tried to make it full screen. Changing the settings file to state TRUE under Windowed file didn't do anything.

You have to delete the game on your computer. Then delete the file on Steam, in your Library. Then in your Library do a reinstall.

Reinstalling does not recreate the Ironclad folder.

I did when I had to do it.
What I wrote is the way that I did it.

That's odd, the game should auto-create it on first run. Can you check that your permissions on the My Games directory didn't get messed up? You can also try running the dev exe (in the install directory) manually as Administrator. That might get the job done to recreate the files.

I have full permissions on the folder. Running the Dev file as administrator results in the same problem. The game fails to launch and the cursor keeps spinning. The game will not launch no matter what I do right now. The game has been labeled an exception by my Firewall so that isn't the issue.

Thank you. I unzipped the file and tried to launch the game; same problem. I then tried to edit the settings file to change "VideoIsWindowed TRUE" to see if that worked, and it didn't change anything.

I've been Googling this for a few days now and I can't find a solution. From what I understand this began after a recent update. Do you know of any solutions? I wanted to install some mods, but I haven't even gotten that far yet; I just want to get into the game.

If the folder isn't being created then we can't even view the log file to see what is going wrong. If you are up for it, you could install debugview (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/debugview) which allows you to see what kind of errors are coming up without needing them to be written to a file.
