Unable to play multiplayer online

Hi guys, here's the problem: when clicking ICO internet multiplayer a popum comes, "network error: disconnected from Ironclad Online". I've seen many others with this issue, nothing they suggested worked.
I tried pinging the ico servers and got no response. Servers were online for sure because my friend was playing online!
Is there something on the router to do?

Use notepad to open it.

Check for:
IcoServerAddress "ico-reb.stardock.com"
IcoServerPort 8000

If that doesn't work, what version shows up in the bottom right when you first load the game?

Hi, the file rebellion.user.setting cointains the strings you wrote, and the version of the game is 1.86

Its likely a firewall issue. Are you on campus or some other institution?

Thank you for your help, I was able to solve the issue with assistance. Basicallly I had to delete the "ironclad games" folder. I worked the second time I did that (wonder why? maybe fragments left behind made my first attempt useless...)
