Can someone tell me what the victory conditions mean? I read them, but I don't understand them.

If I remember correctly it's Flagship Victory causes a special ship to spawn in that's a capital but it can't level up (I think) and if it dies you lose. Occupation means if you can hold a colony on a speciffic planet for x amount of time you win. Research means research enough items in the research tree and a special option will pop up, it takes a while but once researched is an auto win. Diplomatic means get enough points with other factions or something and you win. Allied means anytime a person on a team secures a victory condition, all other members allied with that guy win.

Thanks...

If I turn off allied and I kill all enemies and I have only allies left, does that mean we win or we have to fight each other?

If you turnrd off allied victory condition then you win when ALL others are eliminated, including your ally!
OK, so make sure THAT is truned on at all times then. Because there are two ways to interpet the way the other guy said it. One is that with allied victory off, you don't win when an ally wins by diplomacy, but e;limination of all enemies still works. Another is... well your clarification.

I've found that the AI is pretty vicious and will betray you within a nanosecond when you and your ally are the last two left.

if you lock teams then it doesnt matter your allies will win by default they cant change teams..but unlocked teams and no allied victory..then you can make alliances but ultimately only 1 can win..unless its unlocked and allied victory then as long as you have peace treaty it will be ok..but i think if you keep pissing them off..by attacking the wrong enemy or something like that then those ally points go down.

I like most victory conditions apart from a few things:
-capital victory should still allow you to change your capital but with a long cooldown
-research victory is too cheap even if you mess with the victory timers, it would be nicer that after the research you normally would win you should build this doomsday device (as the description of the researh victory says) and fire it to give enemies more tome to counter and also a specific target.
-Capital ship victory is nice for the fact alone that you can expand faster early game because you got some extra firepower.
-Occupation Victory is very nice sins normally everybody can reach that planet.
-diplomatic victory is silly...

Ummm... when you say "apart from a few things" people generally assume you the list that follows should be a list of problems. You said flagship victory is nice, so it really shouldn't be in the list, even if it is true.

Nope definitely peace treaty, full pacts and everything. There's posts on the official forums.

Well, if elimination victroy means you have to off your allies when allied victory is off, they might as well do it

Yes it does mean that.... but Allied victory was definitely on.

Dude this is a known feature. Frequent the official forums a little bit more.
