Sync Errors?
I thought this was a fixed issue, but apparently not.

My friend and I get sync errors every time we try to play and it is incredibly annoying and defeats the purpose of an RTS. We have both validated files, have clean installs, no mods, all those obvious fixes. Yet on a normal attempt at playing we get a sync error.
This is rediculous and I'd just like to play the game. I'll for ward ports, or whatever needs to be done to fix this stupid error that should have been long since patched (I see posts going back to 2008 SoaSE).

Any and all help is highly appreciated.

I thought it was fixed issue as well. Haven't seen a case in a very long time. I have a few questions before digging too deep.

1. What version are you both running? (Bottom right text when you first load game)
2. Are you playing on LAN or ICO?
3. How are you detecting there is a sync bug?
4. Are you loading from a save game?
5. Are either of your using cheats? A trainer? Something else?
6. Did either of you apply LAA to your exe?
7. Do you know of a set of steps to recreate the sync error consistently?
8. Are either of you using the dev exe?

Thanks for the reply!

1. We are running 1.90
2. Playing ICO
3. There is red text saying "Sync error detected between x and y at tick:#####" (replace x,y with names and #### with a number)
4. We have started a new game every time as we try to fix the issue.
5. Both of us have no mods and verified our game files.
6. Considering I don't know how to apply LAA to my exe, I guess not? We have whatever is default.
7. Each time we simply start a new game and within a minute or two the sync error appears and while we can still do things like give resources, the units and planets are all out of sync. Eventually an ai takes the place in both of our game instances for the other player, so we cannot load a save since the file is different to each of us due to the desync and ai control.
8. We have not tried using dev exe yet.

I am having the same problem, however we are running modded games but it was running fine when we were playing with Sins of a Galactic Empire however we switched to Interregnum and we started getting a sync error. I remember last time we had this problem its cause our mod orders were not the same, this time they are and we also have fresh installs so no LAA either just switched the mods and tried to play.

ICO is due for server maintenence on Thursday. I've noticed a lot more desync reports lately but there hasn't been a game update, so I wonder if its just some issue with the server.

My thread got necro'd so hard

Figured I should mention a desync error that can happen sometimes since Fyst has seen this thread before:

If someone was playing a mod and then disable it and then try and join another (vanilla) game it will desync. The person has to restart their game first, even after disabling the mod, in order for it to not desync.

This is just a TINY bit late but if either one of you is invisible on steam then it might be the cause.
