Crashes on windows 11

been having a consistent crashing issues since boss fight with old man clanton. I have read a lot of crash report and some of them have the same issues as mine. somehow manage to fix the old man clanton crash thanks to that, but now the same crashing issue happened in the steam ship level and I have not find any fix for it. if anyone have the same issues or can help, I have a laptop with 8 gb of memory, intel core i5 processor and Intel Iris Xe graphic card.

latest windows 11 here, finished the game on hard, replaying it on true west, no crashes at all
might be due to integrated videocard - they always got some issues

Maybe switch to Windows 7? Windows 11 has a lot of compatibility issue with older games, some ever as recent as 2016.

Me and others have found that restricting processors using Process Lasso or the MSConfig method gets the game running on Windows 11.
Search for my posts in similar topics for a link to the msconfig method.

Personally I have found that Windows 11 has fewer compatibility issues than any previous version of Windows. Migrating from XP to Windows 7 was the worst. There’s always a solution if one cares to search for it!

ehhh, to be honest, i would've stayed on win 7, if modern games didn't cut support for it.
but they did, so, yeah... still better than win 10, tho

The game works fine on 11 using a system barely 2 years old. You clearly don't know anything about systems. Even my retail games from XP days work fine when the securom is removed. Steam dropped support for 7. Just a matter of time before you can't access your library cause you don't have the latest Steam patch. They aren't going to take security risks just so your extremely small minority of Windows 7 users got access.

@OP, laptop is your culprit. Even on the old CD covers where they list the requirements for
the game, they have a disclaimer "laptop versions of these chipsets may or may not work." and "laptop versions of these chipsets are not supported.".

have the same GPU like you an Iris xe and the same problems the bossfight crash ist easy to fix lower graphics ( best pervormance) . the steamship death end so i call them is hopeless its not the only spot its the full left side of the boat and if you zoom or walk near to the railing the game crashed. the only way is dodge them (theoretical) I'm honest I have gave up trying. its Useless
