Is there cross-platform multiplayer?
I have a friend who uses linux, while I use windows, can he play this game with me?

I'm pretty sure OS doesn't matter, as long as you're both on Steam.

Now, if you're asking if Steam, PS3, and XBox players are all on the same servers, the answer is a resounding "no." :P

OS does not matter whatsoever. Console and PC cannot play together on their respective platforms though.

We indeed have cross-platform multiplayer between Windows/Mac/Linux. We do NOT have cross platform with PS3/PS4/360.
