still an active community? worth downloading?
the steam charts don't seem to say anyone is playing.
but i'd assume that is wrong considering the forums are pretty active.

The steam charts say there are approx 200 players during european nights. That's not what I call nobody.

You can get into a match consistently if you don't mind the sometimes long timer. And also it depends on the geographic zone you're in.

It sure ain't the golden age of awesomenauts anymore though.

I'd say no, the only people who are currently playing are the top players with thousands of hours. Because there's so few players you'll probably go up against them and have no chance of winning.
No, there aren't any real people on this game. Everyone is a bot.

This game is simple saying trash.
Latency so high because people are hosting servers.
Waiting about 6 minutes for match (like we already have people but let's wait for nothing)
Champions after 6 years are still unbalanced.
This game is dead by developers. Cuz they don't get money from very expensive skins

Why do you play it then? Your Steam profile says you spent 40 hours on it the last two weeks. Or is it some kind of masochism from your part to force yourself to play 20 hours per week of a trash game you don't like?

For a ten year old indie game it's doing fine, there are stil a lot of noobs to play against. But don't expect to only get fair matches all the time. During evenings timer is about 2 mintes, during day it's 6-7 minutes. I am in EU.

I think ronimo made the right decision to focus on new games now.

I expect game will still be active for lest 5 more years.

Champs not imbalanced. A few a generally really strong, most are strong with the right comp, and therefore struggle in solo q with randos

this game is fun, and players is still here. I play alot every week, almost every day. If you are new, you can play in team vs bots until you get the hang of the game

As a reminder to everyone, we can be kind and accepting of all levels of play.

There are different leagues, which help find more balanced matches in general (compared to the old days of league 1 versus league 6). Right now, the playerbase is consistent but smaller to a lot of big games. For an indie-game of 8+ years, that's still pretty great.

What Potterman has said is correct though.

Yes.

the game has still sufficient players, and its merits vastly outweight its flaws. i hope the franchise will get a reboot in the coming years.
