I can't get steam to save my game!

I don't know why, but I can't get steam to save my game for some reason. I have two hard drives, and at first I had steam installed on my (C:) drive, but it wouldn't let me install S: S&S EP on my (C:) drive, so I installed it on my (E:) drive. When I played the game, it informed me that steam could not save the game. I couldn't figure out why, so I tried installing steam on my (E:) drive to see if it could save it there. When I went to play the game again, it still wouldn't save, and I have to re-install it every time I close and reopen steam. Please help me! I really want to play this game, but I can't figure out why it won't save.

Unfortunately this sounds like a Steam problem or a Windows problem. You may need to contact Steam support to sort this out.

Damn, well thank you for your input. I will try that, because I really want to play this game. I love what I have already seen of it.
