Holy Roman Empire and Byzantine Empire merger

I have conquered most of Europe with Holy Roman Empire and I would say it is nearly at the peak of its power but I keep pushing it further and further. I have two sons one is going to marry the queen of norway for and alliance between us and my first grand son will merge both lands together. Now this is where it get interesting. I have elective monarchy in the Holy Roman empire and I am going to marry my second son to the empress of the Byzantine empire. Now I am going to make my second sons grand son german and elect him to the Holy Roman Empire.

Now what will happen because he his the Emperor of the Byzantine Empire and I am going to elect him to the Holy Roman Empire. He will have two emperor titles. Is that allowed? I have always wanted to do it and I will.

Do it, just remember to keep him Orthodox and make Byzantium the primary title so you can get to work reforming the Roman Empire.
