Start a faction, wait for the correct time to strike, then go all-out and there you are, on the Throne of Caesars.

what if you cant start a faction that sees you as their new emperor?, at the present moment i cant see the option to start one with that goal

You need a weak or strong claim on the title, I suppose.
You could also go for lower Crown Authority, hoping to force Elective on the Emperor then winning the Elective race.
Moreover, lower Crown Authority allows you to wage war semi-independently and increase your powerbase for either option.

you need ether a claim on the title or the succesion law must be elective in order for you to start a faction for you

Is getting a claim as easy as putting my chancellor on constantinople?

Before I list you the painful way to glory, please, tell me that the Emperor has the Kingdom title in which your Dukedom is (example: Greece for Athens, and so on).
Otherwise, you're in for a very long and awful journey.

The ere empior doesnt have kingdom titles. The ai just wont make them as that be dumb too. If you managed to say get enough land for greece you could make it and vasselize the remaining guys by demanding them from leige or de jure wars.

I am the process of this right now, and ive taken a different approach.

I am currently the Despot of Greece. I have had many lower crown authority wars and de jure wars to get my kingdom to where it was, just to form.
Now that I have been formed for awhile, I have learned a weird approach to expansion.
I have not taken the Emperor title away. I have remained the King.

I am still able to fight indepedant wars. I have attacked and vassalized many around, expanding the overall lands of me and my liege.
We lost Anatolia to the Shia. Most of Georgia to the Sunni. But right now we are taking back those lands.
First I declare war and defeat the enemy, typically in a grueling fight. Then once you have won, your AI controlled liege grows a set and declares for another land grab.

This also works on defense.
Hungary has declared many wars for the Kingdom of Greece. The Emperor raises all levies (gets 20k out of me). Then I raise my 30 000 to help.

You dont have to rise to the top to control the flow.
I may not be Emperor, but I control the crown authority.
When the Emperor makes his land grand, its not hard to get a claim on it inside the Empire after and making it my direct vassal that way.

As said, you have to first claim a Kingdom inside the Empire, then plot to forge a claim on the Empire, and finally press it - either through faction or personal war.

Which involves lowering Crown Authority to gobble up vassals, fighting external enemies by yourself and/or enforcing Elective Succession.
Oh, and if you can snag Venice, then it's the only one-province Kingdom in the whole game.

i went for the marry a claimant approach, coincidently a faction supporting her as empress was founded and now the empire is now in full civil war :), i might have a chance here
