How do i install mods

i recently downloaded Lux Invicta and was about to put it in the Steam CK2 mod folder then i read the message saying to put it in Documents mod folder so i went there but there was no mod folder so i made my own mod folder and put Lux Invicta in there but it doesnt show up in the launcher. Anyone know a solution?

The correct path is Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings II/mods.

Did you leave the .mod file outside the Lux Invicta folder?

i put the Lux Invicta folder into the mod folder

Did you leave 'Lux Invicta.mod' outside the Lux Invicta folder, but inside the 'mod' folder?
Just tried installing it and it shows up on launcher alright.

was that the thing that was called crdownload. i put that in the recycle bin though it hasnt been deleted yet. i only put the folder in the mod folder

You'll have a RAR file, containing a folder and a single .mod file.
Extract it in the mod folder, then it should work.

the single mod file was what i called crdownload. thanks ill see if that works

nope it still didnt work. do you think that it has to do with the mod folder in documents originally not being there till i created it?

Hope that helped and worked! If you register the game on Paradox Plaza, there are all kinds of beautiful mods over there - just for the last few months, before the new year CK2 will have Steam Workshop support and there won't be anymore need of digging obscure threads.

do you have to extract to extract directly to the folder or can i manually move it there because the computer which i downloaded it on didnt have anything to use to extract compressed files so i moved the comp. files to my laptop to extract them then i manually moved it using a flash drive to this computer and into the mod folder.
