Pope won't grant me a divorce for an odd reason.
Hey guys,

The Pope won't grant me a divorce because he is of the same household as my wife, that would make sense under normal circumstances except that both the Pope and my wife don't come from any famous household, they are both lowborn.

Essentially the game is making the Pope recognise familiar ties with my wife because they are both lowborn, not because they come from X great house, isn't it a bit weird for the Pope to identify with my wife simply because they are both lowborn? That would mean he classes anyone who is lowborn as "of his house," is this an oversight by the developers?

Have you got a screenshot of this?
Is your wife the Pope's daughter?
It won't be that they are both simply lowborn unless there is a bug.

Well i'm not trolling, i don't really see the point, the Pope is lowborn and so is my wife, one of the reasons he won't give me a divorce when i mouse over to see the variables of his decision is that he considers my wife to be of the same house, at the moment i'm trying to increase my standing with him with my chancellor in the hope it will tip the scales in my favour.

Here is a screenshot, as you can see at the bottom it says "same dynasty" and lowborn isn't a dynasty, except maybe it is an oversight in the game, it's a fresh install of the game with no mods.

Send your bishop as well to improve religious relations. Definitely a bug.

It's a know bug and it's fixed in the 1.103b beta patch :

- Fixed a bug in the diplo AI where it would consider other lowborn characters to be its own dynasty

How strange, i'm a fully paid up, card-carrying member of the Steam union so i should have the bug fixed too dagnabbit!

And it's a fresh re-install too! I bought celtic portraits, all the shields went black after i did that so i had to delete and re-install. :(

If i tried something dodgy she'd find out, she has much higher intrigue than me as i married her for that ability, now it's come back to bite me in my ass, all i want to do is marry the third daughter of my Liege the Duke, kill him, kill his two sons and then inherit! Is it such a wrong thing?! :D

Have you got the plot to kill her as an option (from the intrigue screen, rather than from the character sheet)? If you can get the required support, its a much more reliable method.
