Do Embargo wars feel broken?
I have noticed that in embargo wars, the warscore is constantly and very quickly shooting up in the embargoer's favor. It feels like I am the one being attacked, yet the game is treating me like I am the attacker. They should have to seige my home turf to win an embargo war.
One example is me fighting the HRE as Gotland. I did end up winning, but I really don't think crushing the HRE's 60-80k men and then seiging their coast is worth -26% warscore.
I know a concern with my complaint is that republics are arguably OP right now, but the embargo wars feel completly broken. How can I seige every coastal territory of the embargoer nation and STILL be less than 30% warscore?

TL;DR: Embargos treat the embargoed republics like the attacker instead of the defender.

Anyway, I apologize as that got a little rant-ey, what are other people's thoughts on embargo wars?

kinda dumb question: did you retake the tradeposts that were taken? that could explain the warscore discrepancy

In the case with Scotland, I literally seiged every one of their coastal territories(including tradeposts they may have seiged), and I was still sitting at 36%. It feels like the amount of effort I need to put into embargo wars is comparable to installing a new leader/invading.
It is possible there is a factor I am missing, but none that I saw.

The victory points for occupied trade posts seem out of proportion. I think this is much more of a concern for the Italian republics though. My strategy for gotland was to hope and prey crown authority got as high as it could to fend off these embargo wars and so far it's worked: not a single embargo war; the Hansa couldn't compete and were destroyed; crown authority is absolute in Sweden.

As for the Italians, not one of them--at least that I've seen in my games--has survived an embargo war. The defender seems really disorganized in it's response, while the attackers seem too well organized and move quickly in occupying trade posts. There does seem to be something off in them, I agree...

the reason the defenders lose a lot is cause most of the time the ai just has trade posts which is easy killings.

I wish the embargoes were based more on the Kings relationship with the Patrician that owns the trade posts, rather than the Serene Doge. Scotland was like my best friend, I was raking in money, but then I ended up getting embargoed because my Doge was a complete jerk. It's not that they're too hard or too easy (the King/Emporer SHOULD have absolute say about who can trade inside his country. I actually think embargoes should require Crown Authority of Medium or higher, just to symbolize crown authority and strength.), but they don't really go with what I feel a republic should be based upon. It seems it's less about creating a huge trade empire and more about just coloring the world your nations color.
I hate how I cant take back trade posts without taking everything in the county first.
