Betrothal not turning to Marriage
I've had some trouble with betrothals never turning into marriages in my vanilla game. I've looked up some troubleshoots and none of them have worked. I got a few messages when I first started playing asking if I want to confirm a marriage between two betrothed people, but haven't had it show up since and I currently have 3 family members including myself stuck in betrothal limbo with all betrothed well over the age of 20

It doesn't seem to be a problem with me having missed the message or disabled it. I can't arrange the marriage because arranged marriage lists are empty for both, presumably because they are betrothed and promised to each other.

I've broken betrothals previously and rearranged the marriage successfully, but that doesn't seem like the way it is meant to work.

I'm a count in France wanting to marry the sister of the king, there is currently a war to install a duke as new king, but I'm on the current king's side. The other proposed spouses are minor family house members.

Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks!

I encounter the same situation with betrothals, to where I rarely use them. I now note the date they turn 16 and am -there- on that date. Otherwise I get peeved at the failure of the betrothal system to work and, as you've mentioned, canceling betrothals and then rearranging them as marriages.

I have noticed that when the two characters dynastic situations changed during the betrothal, that I would often get prompts to renegotiate to a matrilineal marriage when they were both 16.

If others have solutions besides noting the date the youngest turns 16 and negotiating a marriage at that time, I'm open to them, too. Thanks for bringing this up, creepy!
The one time I had trouble with a betrothal was because they were imprisoned. I have no idea how to work around it. Maybe there's a way to pay her ransom?
You should be getting a notification icon up top that notes that a betrothal is possible to go through, which when you click it takes you to the diplomacy screen to go through with the betrothal. If you don't have this, then yes it probably is a case of you disabling it. If you do and it doesn't work, then you likely have something blocking it; the one thing I can think of off the top of my head is that you're at war with whoever it is arranged with.

I solved this by giving my sons (who were betrothed but for some reason not getting married to the princesses) some land...they were unlanded before, as soon as I granted them some county the marraige went through....Might be the foreign rulers dont wanna marry their daughters to dudes who are still living with their parents? Makes sense.

No, in that case it's because you were supposed to be organising the marriage, but didn't. Once the son was landed, they would take care of it themselves.

You disabled the alert for it. The fix is here http://www.ckiiwiki.com/Alert

In order to restore disabled or dismissed alerts:

1.Open the outliner category configuration
2.Check the box Disabled alerts
3.In the outliner, click on the alerts that need to be restored

I'm playing 2.4.5 version and the layest version. I tested this out but I need to know which alert on the outliner you're taking about.
