How do I trigger Khan of Khans?

Hi CK2 fans, I'm hoping someone here will be able to help me with a problem I'm having,

I have conquered the whole map (just me on the Independant states screen) as the mongol empire from the Mongol bookmark, but I haven't triggered the Khan of Khans of Aztec defeat achievements.

Is there something else I need to do before they pop?

Make sure there are no independent baronies, like a holy order or independent city.

Are you playing on ironman? That's a very common mistake.

Yes, other achievments have popped along the way and I have ruthlessly purged all others from the map, I rule this world!

Well, either you're missing some last little bit somewhere, or you've lost internet connection since your last achievement and no more achievements for you.

Do you still have the Mongol Empire title?

As far as the Khan of Khans goes, I am having the exact same problem. As for the Aztec achievement, I had the same problem and figured it out.

If you subjugated the Aztec Empire then you will have taken the title. If you still have the title of Aztec Empire, then the event will not trigger. Unfortunately, the title cannot be destroyed either. However, I was lucky enough to have a claimant to the Empire who launched an assault on me. I surrendered right away and he took back the title. Then he only had the the one province he was fighting for and the imperial title. Then I fought a holy war against him and that destroyed the title when I won, thus triggering the event.

I have the same problem though with triggering the Khan of Khans and if you figure it out, please let me know.

When did you start the game? You cant start in stamford bridge or Charlemagne, but has to start on the Mongols bookmark.
