dude in real life your forced to marry your cousin its just how close related you want. We are all related to each other. There isnt any restrictions on marring any cousin from any faith in ck2. The only people you may get blocked on is aunt/uncles and brother and sister and parent and child.

Actually with way of life you can marry close relatives if you become a seductor and make them fally in love with you.

well, ck2 is about your blood line throughout hundreds of years, why do you want to marry your close relative to have bad traits for your offspring?

Actually marrying too closely can cause inbred trait, which is devastating. So although you could do it, I wouldn't. If you're so concerned about the look of your character and his traits now think doubly hard in a few years when the inbredded children start popping out.

Oh, stop.

For a while, it became a small but funny thing where someone would post a thread about doomed succession, and they wanted to know how to sleep with their mother or sister, and over the last month or 2, it got out of hand and isn't funny anymore.

3-4 threads (probably all by the same guy) about "How do I sleep with my mother, help me sleep with my sister" and the humor has depleted. If you meant no wrong, cool. But, be aware that one of the top troll subjects of this game IS inbreeding and incest.

I've done it a few times and had no ill effects. It's not a good way to do it but it usually works out just fine. It's when your offspring marries a cousin that problems start to pop up. After 2-3 interbreedings it will compound the "inbred" trait possibility. I usually try to avoid it but if I see a cousin with really good traits I'll take the chance.

For what it's worth, marrying cousins was done quite often in Royal familes. Even 1st cousins. It did lead to some problems (Hemophilia for one), but it was often necessary to preserve the Royal lineage, out of mecessity, or to ensure an alliance. The game matches that practice pretty well.

First of all, "Being a sucker for getting trolled" is a Victim Blame worldview, similar to "You must have deserved being sammed/assaulted/etc. for being a sucker".

Second, you obviously haven't been to the Paradox Forums, where the number of "Help me sleep with my sister/cousin/mom/etc." threads went from being a casual naunce, to being a fad posted every 2 days or so. It is trolling in the sense that the "joke" has been killed by being overplayed a million times.
