Worth it to hold jerusalem?
I think it is, I usually try to expand in the far east, and vassalize the templars by playing without sons of abraham, and give land, and press claims and the hospitallers by turning it on and paying. but what is your opinion. I guess it is historical that you want to hold much land, and at least the holy land, another option is to give it to some kinsman, but I prefer to hold it, and ally with byzantine, it gives you more gold and soldiers, it is just that you have to defend it, but two holy orders help.

Holding Jerusalem is favorable. It's a rich duchy and converting it wil raise christian the moral authority by quite a bit. I Personally give it to one of my close relatives I trust, Keeping Rome and Constantinople for myself. Defending it from the Mosulmans shouldn't be as difficult as it's vexatious.

I definitely hold it every time and give it out to relatives. Some times I lose it, but most of the time it serves as a mustering ground for Eastern expansion.

Yeah. I love holding other religions' holy sites. Cracks down their moral authority, making it even easier to spread your own :D Of course, Jerusalem is a very popular holy site... I wish by attacking for it I would be able to unite the muslims and the christians against me :D

give it to relative? but I want it for myself xD haha, or I could expand much in east, and give all of it to relative, making him too op and letting him expand even more, but I would have to wait till they fix the levy bug.

They can't expend if you have absolute crown law.

Yeahhh, be careful about giving too much power to your close relatives, if they're close enough they might have claims on your main titles :D

Familia supra omnia... As king it is a duty to provide for the well-being of your family, claim or no claim. Besides if they revolt they end up benished.

Fair enough, I'm all for it. I just give out duchies rather than kingdoms :D Only rarely will any vassal exceed more than 10% of my total army size.

I do give out kingdoms but only with viceroyalty enabled.

sorry, but what is vice-royalty?

Once you reach tech legalism 4 you get an extra law to change for your main title.
The options are: none, kingdom and duchy.

"None" means it's not enabled. It's as simple as that.
"Kingdom" will allow you to give kingdoms away as viceroyalties. This makes the title owner kind of a Gouverneur instead of a King. If the person you handed a viceroyal kingdom too dies you, as his liege, will get the kingdom title back. However, his money and counties he owned will go to his child(ren).
"Duchy" will enable the option to hand out duchy's as viceroyalties.

wow, epic, never saw it, it`S like a vassal, but not permanentely, kinda historicl too. will probably help to work arround the vassal limit,

Yes and No. Enabeling Kingdom viceroyalties does reduce the vassal limit by 5. The upside is your vassals wil almost always get the granted kingdom title opinion modifier with you. Which is significant, needless to say.

Besides if you want to experiance it, the Byzantine Empire starts of with viceroyalties and Imperial administration enabled.

as we are talking about imprerial administration, what are the requirments? to hold any empire, or specifically byzantine, or HRE?
Nehebsis Jan 14, 2015 @ 12:03pm
Any empire will do as long as you have tech Legalism 5. Imperial administration is just a law that needs to be passed to pass viceroyal Duchies.
