When does the Jihad age start?

Im caliph in the late 900s was wondering when the jihad age starts roughly?

There are a few different ways it starts (all of them require the date to be past 900, looks like) - Most of them require some important place to be captured by some other religion.

"Any of the following:

Fall of Jerusalem
Year is 900 AND
Jerusalem held by non-Muslim
Fall of Mecca
Year is 900 AND
Mecca held by non-Muslim
Center Collapsing
Year is 900 AND
Baghdad, Damascus or Cairo held by non-Muslim
Africa in Danger
Year is 1000 AND
Marrakech, Tunis or Al Djazair (Algiers) held by non-Muslim"
Or " Caliphate Endures
Year is 1187 AND
Caliph exists"

The first 4 have a much better chance of unlocking Jihads, the last one apparently has a long time to trigger
"MTTH"=mean time to happen, so about how long it takes to happen, but IIRC it's a yearly/daily percentage and that's just what it comes out to. Never a guarentee, could happen right away on something with a 10 year MTTH or it could take a century for a monthly MTTH event to take place... Both are pretty extreme though.

Mhm. You COULD try finding someone not of your religion (there's a good chance there's someone around if you have a large realm) and granting them one of those places, hehe. I have seen the "Africa in Danger" one happen due to some random duke in Italy happen several times on its own though.
Pretty sure Heretics should count. Not sure about Shia though, haven't really played Muslim rulers.

I only had one crusade against me (I'm a muslim ingame) I controlled Italy, the papacy and all that, that means I killed the crusades? :P

Hey

I think Jihads unlock when the Pope orders a Crusade. As the Pagan crusades unlock when the Pope has called for a crusade as well. So I guess it would be the same for Muslims.

Once the Pope calls for a Crusade then you will be able to call for Jihads.
