No english culture

Hey guys!

I started a game as William the conqueror and successfully invaded England and became king. In around 1080 I got the event that turns my capital (London) norman, but after that I've had no more of the english culture conversion events trigger. It is now 1120, and I expected "The English melting pot" to trigger around 1100, but it hasn't happened. Does anybody have any idea why?

Ok, thanks. I am Norman and in de jure England, and it's been roughly 65 years since the end of my conquest. I guess it'll happen in the coming 35 years then.

Most events in Paradox games are based on a MTTH (mean time to happen), so it is partly based on luck. The base MTTH for the English melting pot is 100 years (which means after 100 years, it will have fired 50% of the time).

However, in this case the number is reduced when you have high learning and increased with extremely low learning. With learning 13 or higher, the MTTH is only 30 years, for example. With learning 0, it's 450 years. In short, if you want it to trigger, educate your heirs to have high learning.

Actually both true. The event has a MTTH of 100 years (1200 months) which gets shorter the higher your learning is, but won't happen before the year 1100.
