Betrothal to Marriage?
I keep having an issue where when my bethrothed couple reaches maturity I'm not prompted for them to actually marry. The only way I can actually get them to marry is to break the bethrothal and arrange the marriage. Am I doing something wrong? I've played CK2 for a while and normally it auto prompts you! It hasn't been doing that lately though! Am I the only one with this problem??

Can`t you click on the two hearts and a ring, up in the screen that pop up the day you are both of age?

That's the thing. Nothing pops up when they both become of age.

I have the same problem.
sometimes, i have to wait a few monthes, even a year, and then the "two hearts and a ring" appears, but most of the times my arranged marriages dont behave like they used to.

I have no issue with the symbol popping up... But more often than not it says "Marriage type does not match the betrothal", and only way I can get them to marry is to break it and then offer a marriage. So the whole betrothal business feels quite... bugged.

You may be getting a bug, but its worth trying the 'matrilineal' tickbox when you get that 'marriage type does not matdh the betrothal' message. I have got that message before when I betorthed normally and then try ticking matrilineal, and presumably the same would happen vice versa (if you agreed the betrothal as matrilineal and then the prompt came up normal way round).

Not sure why you aren;t getting the popup - there's an option to disable a popup if you right click but I don;t know how you;d ever get it back once disabled.

My betrothals still seems to work fine, on occasion when I don;t click the pop up quickly I actually get the other court in the betrothal contact me to ask for it.

I have tried checking the box, unchecking the box, all over ten times once, it have never worked. If it says "Marriage type does not match the betrothal", it's dead. Once I waited 15 years ingame to see if anything would change, but nothing did.

The only ways I can get them married is if 1) I pause the game, break the betrothal, and then re-arrange the marriage, or 2) it's a match good enough for the other party to suggest the marriage once they are of age. Either way, I still get them married, I just thought that it was odd that i wasn't getting the notification...it just sucks that I have to take a hit in relations if they don't suggest the marriage.

Have you tried reinstalling the game?

I don't think they can get married while the other kingdom is at war, so that may be what the problem is. Wait until that king is no longer at war then maybe the betrothal will work. Or maybe it is that you can't be at war. Someone can't be at war i'm pretty sure.

Depends on the war I believe. I know you can't do very much in a civil war as your character is holding a temporary title at the time. Not sure about actual wars though.

You can't marry someone who has a temporary title; if a duke/count starts a revolt, his title to the revolution is temporary. 'Host' and 'adventurers' work the same way.... Maybe that is what's causing the issue... or you're in regency (don't know if the other country is in regency could also affect this).

I've also noticed that it dos it in the GoT mod I play as well. I dunno. I guess I just have to end the bethroal, then arrange the marriage. Sometimes, if it's a matrilneal marriage, the other party will suggest the marriage.

I don't have a problem with betrothals firing off when both characters reach 16 years old. I am running all the expansions except Way of Life and Sunset Invasion. I wonder if its a bug with a mod you are using or a bug related to Way of Life. The only issue I have had is that sometimes it tells me the betrothed can be married and I click on the icon and it doesn't place both people in the box and that is because someone's liege is involved in a war that would not allow a marriage to take place at this time. When the war ends the betrothal works.

Regencies most certainly doesn't matter for either marriages or bethrotals. It MIGHT be if the Regent hates you and hates his liege too, but that isn't all that common.
