How do I overcome "political concerns"...
...when trying to marry off a dynasty member to someone - if it's possible?

What does it mean?

It means they are worried you are trying to screw them, like marrying ther male heir into your daughter matrinieally to steal his kingdom.

Don't forget you can use your chancellor to improve relations, on top of bribing them.

The best way to overcome political concerns is to try and raise your dynasty prestige. Every time a member of your dynasty gains a title, your dynasty prestige goes up a little based on the level of the title. With high dynasty prestige the AI will be much more willing to agree to marriages.

For example, I believe there's one Karling count in the 1066 start who (despite being only a count) can basically have his pick of all the ladies in Christendom because his ancestors have just held so many titles.

Well, I'm León and it would be just fab if I could get the Franks on my side, but when I tried, they weren't having any of it.

I ended up allying with the Byzantines, and when the moors were rampaging across my lands, (and my allies appeared too busy to help out), I thought I made a grave error. Also, they keep dragging me into war against them.

In the end, I was able to scrape a white peace out of two invading duchies (although the sultanate is poised to invade next, I imagine), and am sitting at 2222 points of prestige.

There is a plot against my Byzantine wife, and I might just let it happen. Maybe I can get in with the Franks (assuming they've got an eligible bride)...

"Political concerns-----" is usually they don't want to give you a claim, or they have a claim on you or you own some of their dejure lands.

"Political concerns+++++ is usually they want an alliance from you, or they will be getting a claim on your lands with the marriage.

I'm having some trouble with "political concerns," too, but it just doesn't make any sense to me. I'm trying to marry my heir to a queen, in my same dynasty, no less. As far as the explanation, "They don't want me to get a claim," well, we're in the same dynasty, so I already have one. As far as, "They want my stuff"—they're getting the stuff! She's getting my entire kingdom! What gives???

Are either of you allied to the others enemy? Also just because you are in the same dynasty doesn't mean every title gets shared. Being leaders of historic rival kingdoms is enough to get the political concerns as is kingdoms that belong to different empires. There are mods that will allow you to bypass this if that is your thing.

From what I've seen "political concerns" usually requires a border with the other realm. "political concerns" might appear if they don't border you but I think it requires the other realm to have a claim on a title in your realm. If you buy a favor from them you might be able to marry - like if they're agnatic they'll be fine marrying off their women to anyone - and you can use the favor even if they consider you an infidel.

I had no alliances and while being of the same dynasty doesn't guarantee a claim (I realize that was silly), I nonetheless already had one.
