When does the Salian dynasty start?

I've been playing crusader kings 2 for a while now, and most of my games I start with the tiny Salian dynasty from pfalz during the viking start and proceed to conquer all of europe. I've now just got the charlemagne expansion, and I can't find my favorite dyanasty in the new earlier start; do they not exist yet?

Well from a quick wikipedia search, it seems the Salian is a cadet branch from the Ottonian which start around 950, so no Old Gods or Charlemagne start for them.

I know they're there in the old gods start because I've played them, but obviously not charlemagne then. Thanks, don't know why I didn't just wiki it.

Nothing wrong with asking here man, like minded people on their own quests for answers whilst others are happy to give them.

I'm also like 90% sure you can type in the Dynasty name in the 'Find Character' menu in-game. I shall try this myself later.
