Matriarchal playthrough?
Hey I was wondering if there's any culture or religion that allows you to play with succession laws that favour women? I've been doing a germanic pagan playthrough and it's kind of a sausage fest so I thought I'd do something more interesting on the side like set up a matriarchal kingdom. Any help would be awesome.

No, there is no succession law that favors women. Absolute cognatic let them inherit on the same grounds as men though. However, I believe that only cathars can have that form of succession.

I'm not sure, but I don't think you can start as a cathar, you either have to change your religion via console or just hope for huge damn luck in order to get the opportunity to convert.
Okay thanks for the advice

You could always get the "better gender laws mod" if you don't mind modding your game, there's also the "return of the amazons".

Enatic and enatic-cognatic (female preference) succession exists in the game, but simply aren't enabled. To change if very simply without potentially running into outdated mods, go into your CK2/decisions folder (or better still create a personal mod file so you aren't altering game assets) and scroll down to the bottom and change both instances of "potential = { always = no" to "potential = { always = yes". Or you could add whatever conditions you wanted, like "religion = norse_pagan_reformed".

CK2 is actually a very easy to mod like that.
