Spawn of the Devil?

Has anyone had the spawn of satan event with one of your children? It's freaking scary!
Not sure if I should kill him?

dont kill him. its one of the best and longest event chains there is. just let them inherit, besides they always end up being one of the best rulers you can have

just let him become heir. this is a good thing! you'll have a genius ruler with all good stats! the church will hate you but hey you'll have a really good character and have a good time with all the events

But seriously? How bad is it? I read all my vassals will revolt... I don't want my game to be ruined. He maimed my heir. But he already has a son so his should be first in line... Unless he kills everyone.

it wont be that bad. your vassals wont like you very much but you'll be a genius ruler with 20s or close in every stat. bribe the important vassals and put down the rest, theres an event for the demon spawn where you'll get free event troops during war so those will help with any revolts. they wont be very well liked by anyone but they wont be able to do much to you either as long as you can keep your vassals in line

i dont understand why you would execute an heir with those high of stats and the genius trait. i just dont get it. the spawn of satan event chain is one of the best in the game and most of the events dont happen until after they become your ruler..

Roleplay my friend... My emperor was emperor before coming of age. Has all good traits and stats. Been emperor for 30 years, Mended the Great Schism and is know as The Saint with 12k prestige and 7k piety. No.... He will not accept the spawn of satan killing his heir and even less accept that the son he tutored became his direct opposite in all ways possible.

My sons son was also a genius who I mentored to be the opposite of the spawn of satan. Who would you choose?

I would go into denial, send him off to the pope (or local equivelant) in the hopes that he could still be saved. While there's even a small glimmer of hope, I could just not bring myself to kill my own son -- my flesh and blood. I would refuse to believe that I could have produced the spawn of the devil. After all, as piouse as that, I simply cannot see how God could have been that cruel. It would almost be as if God wanted us to be evil.
