Muslims using their dynasty names as country names? What about the sheikh of granada?
I started playing as the sheikh of granada yesterday, and I noticed that he is the only Berber in Hispania. He is also the only one that uses the dutchy name as his state name, and not the dynasty name. I thought that all berbers do this, but obviously not. I created my own berber sunni, and started a game, and the dynasty name is now the realm name. How do I get a normal state name, and not the dynastic name? Is there any muslim culture that doesn't use dynasty names?

I think you have to mod all the titles in titles file to stop it.

If the reigning dynasty controls another state, the other ones with that dynasty get their normal names. Example: Seljuk Dynasty reigns at the 1081 bookmark in Persia and Rum. The fact that Persia is bigger gives the Rum Sultanate its original name.

Both right and wrong.

All cultures with dynasty names set (arabs, persians, and a few others) will use the dynasty as the realm name, unless one already exists -- you see this in the 1066 start with the Zirids/Granada for example.
Rum is actually one of the few scripted realms which will ALWAYS use the realm name instead of the dynastic name, so even if the Seljuks lose Persia Rum will still be Rum.

Well, if you're creating your own character via ruler designer, you could always be, say, an irish muslim or something. Iirc, it's not the muslim that makes them use their dynasty as a state name, it's the culture.
Here's looking at you, lone Bolghar Muslim in Russia! (This guy, by the way, doesn't use his dynasty name. My current game he is quite muslim, quite Bolghar, and very content to call himself the Khan of Volga Bulgaria.)
Mongols don't follow the dynasty naming pattern as well. Except, I guess, Timur.

No, all arab cultures do this. Even when they turn into Tengri's or Norse.

-edit- oh erbkaiser already gave a more detailed post bout this.
