Republic bug?

I am playing as a norse repbublic. The bug happend when my heir died in battle but he still stands as my republic heir even though he is dead. Thats makes it impossible to win the next election. This is the second time this happend.

Fixed in the current 2.4.3 Beta...going by the patch log.

- The republic view won't display dead heirs anymore.

If I download the beta will it change the checksum and disabled achievement on my ironman game?

i have had the same problem, though also the problem that if my heir dies and then me, that sometimes i go from merchant republic to a feudal lord

I'd just tough it out then. When I played as Venice, I'd just keep throwing cash into the election pool until my chosen heir's portrait would appear. You just have to ignore any numbers/prestige/totals that are shown. It's a bit annoying, but just stay on top of it and you'll be good. That way you won't risk losing your ironman game.
