Reverting to normal from Ironman
Ok so I dun goofed, hard, I changed succession laws to "Seniority" When I actually meant "Primogeniture" I tend to be quite trigger happy and this leads to a lot of mistakes.
There was a personal fix since it was a titular kingdom and I could usurp the de jure kingdom but that was at the cost of a duchy that wasn't a de jure part of it.
I want to know if there's a failsafe though, just in case I ruin a game with my itchy trigger finger again.

Does anyone know how to take Ironman off?

NOTE: Anyone whose answer is "Tough love" Honestly shut up, I know I made a mistake.

A bit hypocritical from someone who can't slow down and read simple thread.

Yea don't pay attention to Thadian. He is not a pleasant persone. Everyone makes mistakes.

As for your question... I recall seeing a guide or a post somewhere talking about a way to disable Ironman on a savegame. I going to try to look it up and I'll get back to you.

EDIT: I'm starting to doubt myself. I'm pretty sure I saw a guide about it once... Maybe just a phantom of my mind.

Thanks, it was a total FML moment, I've already searched all over Google for any indication on how I can reconvert, no luck yet.
Also I do understand why it's so hard to do, gotta keep cheaters at bay.

If I remember correctly, you can turn it off the same way it was truned on when the save was first started, the button on the load screen. However, that'll remove any chance of turning it back on for that save. Never tried it myself because I haven't wanted to stop an ironman but I think that's the way it can be done.

Edit: If you want to turn it off, change something, and then turn it back on again, I can't help there. Paradox seems to make it impossible to do that.

Don't think you can turn it off. Depends what you are trying to get to happen. But almost everything that you can do with the console can still be done in ironman. you just need to approach it by hacking values rather than complete console commands. most of the law changes are just values that can be changed without breaking the "ironman".

I just started a new ironman game. I exited out of it and loaded it again. When on the load screen, the ironman button, the fist, can be clicked to change it to a non-ironman game.

Yes but console can't be accessed.

Oh. Hadn't checked that. Unfortunately, I can't help there.

Every gameyear I make a backup of my ironman save on my disc.
Just copy the original save to another folder or rename it.
If you make a mistake just put it back with the original name. You can call it cheating but at least you don't ruin a 250year game.
