As for your question... I recall seeing a guide or a post somewhere talking about a way to disable Ironman on a savegame. I going to try to look it up and I'll get back to you.
EDIT: I'm starting to doubt myself. I'm pretty sure I saw a guide about it once... Maybe just a phantom of my mind.
Also I do understand why it's so hard to do, gotta keep cheaters at bay.
Edit: If you want to turn it off, change something, and then turn it back on again, I can't help there. Paradox seems to make it impossible to do that.
Yes but console can't be accessed.
Just copy the original save to another folder or rename it.
If you make a mistake just put it back with the original name. You can call it cheating but at least you don't ruin a 250year game.
