My child and heir is the queen of Scotland; how do I claim it for myself?
So my ruler (King of Eire) married someone with a claim to the Scottish throne. I thought: great! Once I've taken the throne for her I will gain Scotland (Seeing as though I am her husband) but nope. She became Queen and a close ally. So I made sure I sired a child (Turned out to be a daughter) before anything happened to her (She died immediately after birth). My child is now Queen of Scotland and heir to the Eire.

My question: If I die and I play as her she obviously inherits all titles and Scotland will become part of the Eire empire? Or will the empire suddenly become Scottish?

Another thing I'm confused about, why didn't I my king claim Scotland being claimee's husband?

1) If you die, your first title will probably change to Scotland. But you can change that back with a mouseclick. Doubtful though that a female child (of different culture most likely) will stay Queen for long, thanks to factions and regents...
2) You WERE King of Scotland, just not the ruler of scotland.

Damn, so this could create more trouble than good for me?

So how would I go about claiming Scotland for the Eire? Should I declare war on her? Take Scotland and have her inherit the Eire once I die? I'm hoping to sire a son soo, not having much luck with children atm. If I do have a son I'm assuming I lose all claim to Scotland and basically have a family fued over a Scotland?

Your best bet might be to educate her well and don't have anymore children, though depending on your sucession rules, that might not be a problem.

It also depends on who is next in line for Scotland to inherit, although you can't really kill her at this point.

Scotland is another kingdom so unless you have a personal claim to it, it will become independant whoevers claim you pressed. You would have to be emperor of britannia to have a vassal kingdom.

Personally I would destroy it if I claimed it, one land, one king and all that, until you become emperor of course. Managing 2 kingdoms is a pain in the arse with 2 seperate lots of laws and everyone hates you for having 2 kingdoms.

If you are ok with playing a female and if your Irish vassals are ok with being ruled by a female (good traits etc.), just wait and have no more children. Even if she is deposed in Scotland, she will have a strong claim to it. You may need to go to war as her later but you will get Scotland eventually.

You were not THE King of Scotland, because titles are never passed between spouses.
You were just the Queen's husband (who also happened to be King of Ireland).

If you were to die right now, the child would be Queen of Ireland and Queen of Scotland, both titles having possibly different rules of inheritance, etc. The kingdoms are not merged, unless you destroy one of the titles (warning, try to do it when people like you already, because nobles won't be pleased)

If you are afraid of having another child and "losing" Scotland, try to switch to elective succession for Ireland, in order to be able to choose your daughter as heir anyway.

Try to help her keep the throne until then, but even if she loses it, she'll get a strong claim that you can push , as was mentionned

So I destabilized Scotland and managed to take over the rebelling factions lands, one more territory and I can usurp the title from my daughter. I accidentally created a Duchy which has led to one of my vassals becoming a Duke and amassing real power, so I didn't want to risk having my daughter crowned and I loose Ireland to this vassal.

I'm so close to creating Britannia I can taste it! I don't think I can do much more with my current ruler when it comes to claiming England. I want to set my son up with a personal claim to England, is there a way I can do this? Marrying someone with a claim clearly doesn't create a personal claim :(.

When playing the marriage game, you're aiming to secure stuff for your son/granson, not for yourself...
So your son won't be getting any claim.

You can do it the hard way, by pushing ducal claims claims to chip away at england until you can either create Britannia or Usurp the kingdom.

Look for someone with a strong claim on a duchy (weak if current ruler is female), invite him to court, land him with a baronny to make him vassal, and then push his claim. He will get the duchy and still be your vassal, gaining you land.

Or you can try to marry your son to an English Princess (with a claim), then either assassinate the other heirs so she becomes Queen, or push her claim to install her on the throne.
Your granson, will then unite Britannia, (unless England is elective)
