Mac Failure to Start
I know there are several threads on this. I've ready all of them. None of those solutions have helped.

My previous macbook died, so I took a better condition one (running OS X 7.5). So far, everything's running better--steam included. I downloaded Crusader Kings II with the intention of getting back to playing, bceause it had been too hard on the dying fan in my old MacBook.

So, it won't launch beyond the hopping icon on the menubar, and gives me an error with the option to Ignore, Report..., or Reopen. No further luck on reopening (another user had a bug where they had to hit reopen 2 or 3 more times).

I disabled the community overlay.
I verified.
I deleted all local files and have redownloaded several times.

The desktop icon has a big white "no" sign over it and when I attempt to launch the application from there, it says that it is damaged or incomplete and won't launch from outside Steam.

Help? Please and thank you!

have you tried reinstalling the game or verify the files. are you logged in to steam.

Also delete the folder in Documents and the game folder in the Library. It sounds as if you only used the steam option instead of doing it manually, so i recommend doing that yourself.

Regarding file locations

To see ~/Library/ go to the Finder, hit command-shift-G (ie Go To) and type in ~/Library/ .


Also the classic question, did you restart your computer since then ?

Thanks for the leads on Paradox Tech Support. I followed your recommendations but that didn't solve the issue, unfortunately.

I'll keep working that Tech Support forum, and may end up going to a ticket. Thanks!
