How do I make a title my primary title?

This time I am playing as Poland and claimed the HRE, but now the title of Emperor of the HRE is my primary title, I found the button to make King of Poland my primary title, but, to make it my primary title I need it to be the same rank as my primary title, how do I do that?

A king is not an emperor obviously and below that.
You can't.

What you read means this: your primary title is always tour highest! You can't change it to a lower title. You could only change primary if your had multiple same tier titles like 2 or more kingdoms/empires etc.

If you wanted to stay just a king you shouldn't have claimed an empire. But if the HRE is still elective you could still try and lose the next election.

But is there a way to upgrade a rank? That was what I was trying to ask, I think I wasn't too clear with my post.

You could try to conquer the Wendish Empire, which Poland is de jure a part of, and make that your primary title. However, there is no Polish Empire title in the standard game.

if you have the dlc there is a polish empire title but to get that you will have to destroy the HRE title by any means and when your main title is polish kingdom you need 2 other king titles or 180 realm size and you can make a custom empire that will be called exactly what your main kingdom title is just changing the kingdom to empire

or if you have another dlc (sorry idk what dlc does what anymore) you can straight up change the name of the HRE to the polish empire or whatever your heart desires

For custom kingdoms and empires you need the Charlemagne DLC. For renaming titles you need the customization(?) DLC (NOT ruler designer).

i didnt say you needed ruler designer for title naming i just said its another dlc different from the one that gives custom kingdoms/empires
