Move them all into a single county then select all the troops by left clicking and drag across. You then have an option to "merge" the selected units.

Also, if you have an ally fighting with you (blue troops instead of green or red) you can 'chain' the armies together by pressing the chain button when selecting your troops. You have to be in the same county as the allied troops and after chaining you can't give orders to your guys--they're following the AI now. If you want to exert control again, just click the chain icon again and they're back under your control.

I don't understand, the chain icon is always grey. It's green only for my army. I can't chain others armies ...

I think it happens automatically if the ally decides that it is what he wants.

Alternatively you can "chain" your army to allied one, but you will lose all control over it.

you cant directly controle allied armies

You kind of have to hope that your allies attach their armies to your army.
But AI most of the times decides to besiege the weakest target in range, regardless of near enemy presence...

if you play in the north an attached allied army is a big problem because of the attiration.

That's worry because war strategy is out of control then.

Need a real DLC to improve battle and war control not an useless conclave to rule your country ... my opinion...

Dont know about conclave, but the game is first of all a dynasty simulator, not a military one.

Also I find it reasonable that allies have a mind of their own, I am waging a war of my own right now and everything is working just fine, they always join my forces.

And the attrition also is a very crucial feature, it gives war another dimension and is done grate in the game.
