i already did connect it but it says to do that AND use the cd key
After connecting it, have you synced your owned items?
Log in, hover your mouse over your name top right and click on Owned Items.
There is an option to synch your games.

Registering your games gives you access to subforums, nothing more , nothing less.
Yes it's a stupid excuse and i don't agree with them but that's how they decided.
You need access to the mod subforum to download the mod, get news on it and discuss it.
Unzip/extract it (the rar/zip file contains a mod folder and a file with the modname) to the 'mod' folder in Documents/Paradox Interactive/Ck2 .
Done.
Go to the stickied thread in the mods' subforum with the link for the mod,
follow that link and download it.
No mystery or magic involved.

You already got the link to the subfourm for Elder Kings, you should be capable to find the thread on your own.
