Using cheat-engine or trainers in CK2

Is this allowed in single player games?

Cheating is not something that really exist on solo game, in the way it s not at espense ot others players ... except perhaps yourself.

Anyway C.K.2 dont worth to use cheat engine when saves are so easy to manipulate.

why wouldnt it? they have a list of console commands available for you to cheat on =p

Some achievements are hard to get and i was wondering if i could cheat myself to them ;P>....

No it's not allowed and i also makes no sense, as it's not an achievement then.

Why ? As using the console would probably allow you to get the very most of the achievements without even letting time pass by in game.


You could of course play a non-ironman game and recreate the targets for the achievments there by using the console only minimal or using a cheat mod,........ but that usualy doesn't work that well, I speak by experience. ;)

Mastervovan. Edit saves, it almost clear text files. Forgot cheat engine, it dont worth. For console command it could make sense game is able to detect it if you use it and act in consequence for achievements.
Philosophical discusion about what worth an achievement you obtain by cheating is just at your judgement not us. Most people who will howl at the moon about that are often just jealous, who considere reach an achievement on game make them better or smarter and dont want other obtain it.
You know reach an achievement on a game make you a genius everybody will admire. It s one of the most important thing in the life. It s important to keep it sacred and prevent cheater Joe to become equal to God.

i mean if you have a save from an ironman game that about to receive an achievement and you load it up, thats simply playing a save a "friend" gave you, and is only modifying CK2 files/saves as allowed

as far as tricking steam into letting you get achievements directly? no, because that requires messing with the interaction between the game and steam, which becomes messing with your account, which if im not mistaken is a violation

Regarding an earlier comment - there is a way to unlock achievments on any game you want, but it's not legal and can get you VAC banned.

Anyway, doesn't editing the game files disable achievments? I dunno, maybe it'll work, just figured Paradox would have some sort of defense against save-editing.

i dont want to hack achievements, i want to play with mods, but achis are disabled. so now i need a way to play ironman (eew) and get achis easily

Oh, well some mods are compatiable with ironman mode, as long as they don't change the checksum (The mod creator will usually say if it's compatible).

There do seem to be some articles online talking about how to "Enable Ironman-mode achievments with mods" but they seem to be referring to a much older version of the game.

For edit save, like said if you use quick save, you will have umcompressed files. Inside it s about clear text. However Some actions could be complicated if it requiere to change things in multiple area.
