This may be related to the mod (perhaps it was made for another version of CKII?), and we can't really help you unless you offer us more information.

Mods have requirements.
That might be DLCs, but the most important question is especially if the patch version you are running the game on is compatible with the version number of the mod you use.

Its is usually explained on the summary page and of the mods on moddb or/and in the description for the versions you download.
It sure is for the Middle Earth project on moddb.

It's 0.5b version for instance is for CK2 patch 2.4.2.

hey guys!
its my first comment so maybe iam wrong here :steamfacepalm:
i play crusaider kings version 2.6.1.1 with ck2 + mod 2.5.2 (menue CK+ V 4.04) Since i have the mod a lot of the characters wear facemasks and and eyeclaps :steamsalty: (in each country, woman, man, kings, bishops, etc.). To much face masks for me. Particularl when my character starts to wear this masks also. Do you have any advice how i can get rid of this face masks? i tried to delete stuff from the portrait_properties.txt but without success. any advice would be helpfull even if u tell me where i have to ask here in steam or in the paradoxplaza forum. best regards!

Start your own thread.
Also, your post has absolutely NOTHING to do with the opening post.
Zero.

im confused on what im supossed to do the install guide sasys the following:
INSTALLATION GUIDE
1/ Download the mod, and open the .rar file with Winrar or any similar software.
2/ If you've got a former version of the mod, remove it entirely.
2/ Extract MEP 0.1.5b in your "Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings 2/mod" directory (NOT directly in the game folder)
3/ Launch the Game, and enjoy!
IMPORTANT ! The current release is a BETA version, with bugs, and obviously not complete !

thats what i did there were no mention of any dlcs needed and i would not even know how to change my version of ck2 to be old enough for theirs =P

Well installation was probably correct, but if your CK2 is on 2.6.1.1 then you have to revert it.

What mod version did you download ?
edit: okay , saw you donwloaded 0.5b, but the latest is 0.6b and that is for 2.5x patch.

No key/code required. Just select, let it download and install.

Before you then start, manualy delete or rename the CK2 folder in Documents/Paradpox Interactive/ (it includes your save files and mods !) or simply delete everything inside the CK2 folder except the "mod" and the "save games" folders.

Start the game twice afterwards while online for DLC to be registered and to be sure that vanilla without mods runs fine.

My mod does not show up at the small start up menu. I dont have any DLC and Themod is the wizarding world beta. At least yours shows up... Any idea whats wrong? I have tried both the mod folders. The Steam and the Users directory, but both fail. I dowload form mod db.
Please help me out.

Have you extracted the mod from the zip file? They are usually packaged as zip files...

Weird necro, but whatever.

First, open the .rar and move the mod file and folder to C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\mod or wherever your equivalent is.

Then, make sure you're on the correct version of CK2. IIRC, Wizarding World is something like 2.4 or 2.6, so you have to be on the relevant version of CK2 stated in the moddb page somewhere, with any DLCs newer than that date turned off.

Yes, I have indeed. I fixed i so it shows up, but it does not work. just the original gameplay.

In my case many years later, I had everything just fine with all the mod I am using until one day the game just started to crash with the mods. no new content for the vanilla. Weird.
