jerusalem is worth taking anyway for the convenience of easy religion swapping (you need to be christian to form kingdom of jerusalem - at least temporarily). not sure if jaffa was really worth the trouble. i moved my capital to jerusalem and also kept galilee so the emir/duke of ascalon was constantly pissed that i held one of his de jure counties.
damascus was not available in my game because the caliph moved his capital there, so i only got it much later when my Mu'nis successfully won the war to install himself as the caliph and basileus the arabian empire (which was basically the end of the campaign since i got the achievement at that point)
