Rajas of India - Worth it?
Totally love this game. I own almost all of the DLC (even the stupid songs and models) but I haven't taken the plunge to Rajas. I've played all sorts of different factions, but for whatever reason I'm not really keen on playing the Indian factions. I still haven't even got around to the Muslims, and they're likely next, but I'm wondering if there's anything particularly noteworthy about playing as a Hindu or Jainist or whatever.

Is Rajas mostly more of the same, or are there actually interesting concepts and stuff that come out of it, like the Pagans vs Christians vs Muslim differences. It doesn't seem like there's much there from my perspective, but I'd love to hear from someone who owns it.

They are new, different factions, with their own traits (chastes, schools...), their own events (hunt a tiger is not good for you?) and and, well, three religions with their own things.
Obviously, is the same, but different. The usual religious differences. Different places, different cultures, different religions. That's all.
Also, I didn't played too much with them, but I'm planning doing it in the future.

Okay thank you. Are the factions as fleshed-out as some of the European and Muslim ones? I really enjoyed playing as the ERE and as a Norse pagan -> Norman -> English dynasty...stuff like that. The other thing I wonder about is how it's so far away from the 'action' of Europe and the Middle East that I wonder if it ends up being a less dynamic playthrough...

Depending on the start date India can end up being pretty chaotic. I've not tried one of the later dates, but trying to expand in either the 867, or 1066 start in there can be pretty chaotic. The only thing you're really safe from are Hordes (most of the time), and Crusades/Jihads. Other indians will still want your territory, and the sub-continent seems to be fairly revolution happy

Unless you're specifically interested in playing somewhere on the Subcontinent, I wouldn't pay full price for it if I were you.

It will go on sale sooner or later (it was during the Summer Sale a month ago)...

As someone who owns but still hasn't gotten to play either Sword of Islam or Sons of Abraham, I'd also suggest you wait for a decent sale unless you've a huge interest in the Indian history.
