Did a claim war, didn't get the land?
I'm playing as Ireland, I own all of Eire (as king) and Cornwall, I went to war with Wessex for a claim war on Kent, when I won, Kent became independent, why?

You pushed someone else's claim who had no legal reason to be your subject. Unless they're your landed vassal or of your dynasty pushing other people's claims won't get you land.

Well damn. Thank you. I guess the plus side of my time wasted is I made Wessex a little weaker, lol.

Next time you have a claimant just give them a barony or something first.

I did this yesterday also, and it was annoying. But hey the guy loves me now lol.

??? I'm a complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥ when it comes to the marriages / diplo ways to gain land.

Is it something like (saw this on a video, just want to make sure this is the right application), invite them to my court, give them land then try to press their claim?

That only works of they're part of your De Jure land. If you attack someone outside your realm, and they're a vassal, usually you will get the land, with them in charge of it.

Sometimes it will bug out and make them independent, and in charge of your barony independently.

I understand now, literally learning diplomacy is the hardest thing in this game but yeah, you can either have a guy already in your lands and press his claim and gain territory or what I said, bring a courtier in who has a claim, give him a title and press his claim and he'll get it instead of leaving your land and making his own kingdom. Harder for me to understand previously since I was just marrying random hoes and have like 10 weak claims that can be pressed, lmfao

How do I give someone a barony?

1st you must have a barony to give. Then you choose the person, right click on their portrait and click "give landed title." Then you CAREFULLY choose the RIGHT thing to give out of the long list. Don't make the mistake of accidentally giving them some prime real easte! lol

Regarding what is discussed in this thread:

*King writes letter, giving Estate*

*Realizes 2 hours later that when he gave the horseman the letter he accidentally wrote the wrong estate down*

It has probably happened to all players of CKII and unfortunately in ironman there is no "undo" nutton. That's why I always pause when I'm handing out titles.

I killed the CKII task in the Taskmanager, sometimes, I manage to load a save before the grief error in Ironman.

Ah, yes, there is always that method for fixing errors. Sometimes you don't realize the mistake untill later, though. :steamfacepalm:
