Whats the point of personal combat skill?
Ik that it supposed to represent how good of a fighter you are but what is it *really* for? Because it sure as ♥♥♥♥ isnt used to determine success in a duel that much I'm certain of.

duels and events on battlefield

It is, but the way it work will always leave a small chance of failure no matter the difference in combat score. Its frustrating but that's how it is.

Nothing like fighting an 87 year old man with -37 pcs with my 35 year old lady with 47 pcs and having the flavour text tell me I was beaten into submission by a superior foe hah

Of course it is, though the RNG as always will screw you up. I lost a duel because the other guy used a poisoned sword.

It works a hell of alot better than the old system.

So far I've won every single duel against someone with lower duel skill.

same for me, so fun to play a norse and join the warriors lodge. go to war get a bunch of battle field events to sacrafice people for like 5 PCS each, had one charecter with 300 PCS after i invaded france for our rightfull holy site. anyway he never lost a dual after that war, pretty sure i could of dueled the devil and won. that should be an added super natural even if you get someone with really high PCS.

Same here. I assume that it‘s working as intended and just most players who win duels as it would be expected from comparison personal combat skill aren‘t exceptionally vocal about it.

Nah, you can still lose against someone with high intrigue. I had a ruler with over 300 PCS lose two honor duels to someone with over 200 less PCS than him.

sorry for your losses but like i said my charecter died of old age, he had like 50+ kills from duels on battlefield alone not to mention all the people he sacraficed from the events for the warriors lodge.

I got a character with over 300 PCS as well, I dueled everyone across Europe, including a bear. It feels good to insult the Holy Roman Emperor so badly he agrees to a duel, then cut him down in one swing.

Right, my character won every duel against characters that did not cheat. But my point is if you are up against a character with high intrigue and much lower PCS than you they can beat you consistently if you try to fight them honorably.
Umbrul Nov 19, 2018 @ 5:18pm
Yeah, i'll echo what everyone is saying here.High intrigue even lets you stop certain cowards from fleeing duels as well.

But yeah, duels are not just brawn... they also include intrigue (for extra choices) and a tiny bit of luck.

---

Side note, playing an intrigue character is even more fun/useful now, works really well with antagonizing, warrior lodge events, duels, etc.

Im tired of hearing about how you won all "your" duals. yes its rng and some time people get incredibly lucky but when you lose over a dozen kings with PC ranging from 120-160 in one game and every single time they lose is to someone with -PC the system is not working right

Nice necro. At the time this thread was made you were a lot more likely to consistently win duels against inferior opponents than you are in the current patch.
