How to become a saint?
Yes, how to become a Christian saint in this game?

#Answer (probably) = 1. Amass 10000 piety. 2. No red traits. 3. Happens some years after death.

Edit: Might need Zealous as well. Might not need as much as 10000 piety. Kills don't matter.

From what i know its like making a bloodline but the differences are that you need almost max relations with the pope and the character your playing as needs 2k piety and then dies. We dont know the percentage of you being a known saint by dying but i would assume the more piety you have the higher chance of being known as one when you pass away.

thanks, I'll try and report back

Edit: Okay my repenting king of 18 murders was canonized some years after his death.

He had more than 10k piety, Orthodox, order member, 100 relations, 5 virtues, no bad traits, pilgrim, celibate, content, falconer, zealous, strong, crowned by pope (he was first a cat-holic, 10 learning, Norse Saint Björn the Venerable of Denmark...

you need tons of piety and not a single vice (the red traits)
galadon3 Nov 16, 2018 @ 6:59am
guess joining one of the monastic orders will be helpfull for not having vices

i think this is bugged for orthodox rulers. after forming the kingdom of Poland and mass converting it from slavic with help from the ERE my guy died and I got a notice that my patriarch beautfied him as an exmaple for all christains to look up to. However when I clicked on my relgious tab where it shows all the holysites and stuff and clicked on the saints button it opened an empty list.

Is Beatifaction and Saint differnet things, if so how do you adavance from one to the other? My guy had 6 of the 7 green virtues and was the leader of the relgious society with 5k piety (he mass converted 2 other kingdoms and even recieved a spcieal nickname for doing so).

2 different things...beatification is almost instantly after death
took my guy roughly 10 years or so to get sainted
so just be patient and it will happen eventually

I know its a typo and not trying to make fun of you, but I just have that picture in my head of the patriarch starting to work with make-up on your dead ruler just to present him to all of christendom later saying "and THAT is how you apply eye shadow correctly"...^^

perhaps a sligtly offtopic question... but is there a console command or event that you can trigger manually to create a new saint?
itisoktodance Nov 19, 2018 @ 11:23am
So, my kind, diligent, patient, humble, just, charitable, zealous, celibate empress, who was crowned and baptised by popes, who has won numerous holy wars, has over 19K piety and prestige and 100 relations with every pope ever, isn't triggering the "A Saint Has Passed" event. She isn't a member of a monastic order and has Sypathy for Pagans. Does Sympathy have anything to do with it and is there a way to get rid of that trait?
galadon3 Nov 19, 2018 @ 11:37am
joining a monastic order, taking theology focus and going on pilgrimage, usually the doing penance stuff and events on the pilgrimage have some chance to get you zealous and afaik that makes you loose sympathy for other religions.

But I guess there also still is a random element no matter how pious your character is.

She doesn't have any vices, but she's got 30 kills, most of them in dungeons, but she's killed people in duels and on the battlefield. She doesn't have the trait known murderer either. I keep savescumming to check if it's just luck but her death never gets the event to fire.
Xerexerex Nov 19, 2018 @ 8:53pm
I think you need to have at least 1 virtue. Also it doesn't matter if you were formerly excommunicated, mine was and still got sainted.

Has anyone gotten the "From Servant to Saint" achievement to pop? A character I played got sainted and I've played her son and now grandson and it never popped for me.
Donald J. Trump Nov 19, 2018 @ 9:12pm
Ok I managed to get sainted after ton of trys and get the achievement I will list what I did with the character. Not sure if all of these are necessary all I know is that it worked.

Did theology my whole life and had theologian trait.

Had 5 pious traits by the end of my life and never had a sinful one.

Died in battle.

Didn't execute or kill anyone besides from unavoidable duel death or natural death in dungeon.

Pope had 80 opinion of me.

Had 2.2k piety

3k prestige

Was a pilgrim

Was zealous
