Why doesnt 'ModDB' work?
I have been trying desperately to make modDB work, specificly the ck2 mod Emperor kings, but for every mod not just ck2 mods but all mods i try to download it tells me to do things like unzip file, overwrite file, i mainly just want the Emperor Kings mod so if any one can explain how to download that paticular mod that would be great but any mod in general would be good. thank you :)

First of all, the specific mod is likely only compatible with 3.011 patch as the last file i found got released early '19, so you'd have to revert your game back to that patch for it.

Outside that, you unpack the zip file and move the folder and the file named after the mod into Documents/Paradox../Crussader Kings 2 /mod.
That's it.

If you are seriously asking how to download it, click on the "files" tab below the mod name in the headline. There the mod versions are listed by date. Click on the version you want and download. Sometimes, as in this case, the content of "files" is also listed below the description of the mod.

Did you scoll down in the window of the Betas tab where the versions are displayed ?

IF they are not there, then you have to enter a code inside the Betas window to see them all, but i thought that would be a thing of the past. Anyway, the last universal code i know of is :
CK20987li9e234

I do not know the mod nor with which patch it is supposed to be run. I couldn't find anything on its moddb page when i had a quick look and just took the date of release as hint.

Do not forget that there is a hotfix and the mod itself to download seperately and the hotfix to, i assume, install over the mod files.

PS: How did it not work ? IF the game loaded but without the mod being present, despite being selected in the launcher, then maybe you simply unpacked it wrong. Be sure that the folder of the mod directly contains the modded files and not another folder layer in between. Some make this mistake, as when unpacking a zip file, another folder might get created with the name of the zip file. It depends how and with which option you unpack a file.

Keep in mind, the last release didn't look like having the world already.
The pictures there are only for a coming release.

Hey I know this comment thread has been dead for a solid 3 years nearly but I'm having a similar issue as with the person above, and I've tried setting the current version back to 3.011 but that didn't work, and I'm sure that I put everything in the right place in my mod folder if anyone has any advice that would be very appreciated thanks
