Question about Kinslayer
If i sire bastards all over the world, can i still kill them if i don't aknowledge them?

I think as long as the aren't related to you and are not your bastard (the black blood symbol) you will not get kinslayer.

Why don't you try it and let the rest of us know?

Yeah, I don't suppose a lot of people ever tried that. Because having tons of bastards, denouncing them and then killing them sort of defeats the whole purpose of having them in the first place.

But I've read you can marry denounced bastards so I guess murdering them should also be possible.

My current goal is mainly to have relatives on as many thrones as possible without going to war. And i won't aknowledge anyone with a birth defect.

Will do. I'll update probably tomorrow.

If you are going for the 10 thrones achievement there are other ways of getting it. Like winning all Crusades and placing a relative on each new Crusader state. Or having so prestigeous a dynasty that no woman ruler refuses a regular marriage.

I killed my unacknowledged bastard in a duel and don't have kinslayer. The option to assasinate was also available as soon as i denounced him. Seems to be save.

Thank you but all i want to do is spread all over the world and watch what the AI does with my heirs.

AI rulers seem to grant land to my dynasty for no reason for example.

But unacknowledged bastards aren't really your heirs, are they?
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

True i was just afraid that the game would track it in the background

I'm pretty sure the game does in fact know "in the background" who the real father of every character is (I believe there's a mod that allows the player to see it in the tooltip as well), but the Kinslayer trait depends on the characters in the game being horrified that you killed your kin, but they can only become horrified if they know that child is in fact your kin. Pretty sure that's how the logic goes, anyway.

This is exactly how it works. :)

I think the OP only denounces and tries to kill the duds. The rest he legitimizes and leaves what happens to them to chance.

Thats exactly what I'm trying to do. I was just afraid that killing an unacknowledged bastard that rose to a random throne (that I lost track of myself) would trigger kinslayer and destabalise my realm. I'm afraid I can't explain my thoughts in english that well.

Thanks everyone for your replies.

Edit: In the current run I use elective monarchy so many potential heirs are no problem and I can occasionally collect the realms my bastards worked so hard for
