I wish to delete a Casus Belli from the game entirely
I hate tributary wars, God help me I hate them. To see France waging a tributary war on Denmark, to see Norway as an English tributary in 1338, or to see Aragonese Sicily as an Egyptian tributary, its all too much, its a worthless CB. So, I would like to have this CB removed from my game entirely. Is this possible?

I do not think that this is possible, since a similar kind of wars takes place in history, and they will not be deleted exactly. But your observations can impress the developers, since it touched upon the illogicality of the behavior of the game, which is likely to result in a balance, for example, that some countries with a certain religion can not become tributaries. Or, second, in the game start settings, they will be able to turn off this type of reason for war.

See, I am certain you can delete it, CK2+ has removed the CB entirely. I am trying out HIP, because I want more historicity, but even though it outpaces + in that regard everywhere else, the mere having of tributary wars leads to inexcusable ♥♥♥♥ going down, real eyesores if you know what I mean. I would hope Paradox changes this, instead of adding more meme Polar bear characters, and maybe fixing the Crusades and Jihads too, but don't get me started.

Disable the dlc that allow this CB (I think horse lords and jade dragon, but I'm not sure)

I will assume that disabling this won't affect even this modded game too severely? That this horrible CB was a feature in a DLC, Paradox must be smoking crack.

You can edit it out of the common/cbtypes (may be spelt differently) file but that will change your checksum and disallow ironman (if you care about that)

Thank you, if you care to, could you give me some instructions how to do this for a computer illiterate?

In the steam installation directory, wherever it is on your computer is a folder called steamapps...

Inside that folder is a folder called common, inside which is a folder called crusader kings 2, inside which is a folder called common, inside which is a folder called cb_types

inside that folder there are two files.

open 00_cb_types
search for tributary
delete everything from the start of tributary to the # 57 line (leave the # 57 line intact)
save
exit

open 01_cb_types
find the line that starts with tributary_permanent_cb
delete all (including that line) down to the ###China line (leave the ### line alone, just delete above it)
save
exit

this should remove the "normal" tributary cases but leave the special Chinese ones if you have Jade Dragon enabled

Note that you will have to repeat this process every time the game files are updated

There may be a way to mod things that will disable them that is easier to maintain, you could try asking in the CK mods sub-forum at the official forum (requires registering and linking your games to access the sub-forums) forum.paradoxplaza.com

You are a good person, thanks for the help, I will keep that in mind about Mods, CK2+ already disables the CB so it can certainly be done. Regardless of my history OCD, its a terribly overpowered CB.
