Oops just killed my Mum whilst trying to seduce her.

I invited my mother to a private chat hoping to seduce her. (She was my spymaster and had marginal opinion of me).

I figured if I made her my lover she would like me more and she was too old to produce bastards.

So I met her somewhere romantic, didn't really read my options properly, next thing I know I'm killing her. I must have chosen the kill option by mistake.


The sad thing is, this isn't the first time I've killed someone I tried to seduce. I killed my wife trying to seduce her once.

Yeah. I've had that happen one time too. Of all the dozens of people I've tried to seduce only one tried to kill me. I make sure not to invite anyone who really hates me... Although I know it's a gamble. Even people who like you sometimes want you dead.

No, seduction can lead to death but I wonder if that's a bug.

When doing the private chat there are normally two options:

"Talk" or "seduce".

Occasionally there is a third... To knife the person.

When I see the two options I click the bottom one out of habit to seduce. What must have happened when I met my mother was the two options were "talk or kill" and I didn't read it because I thought I'd read the options so many times before.

So I meant to seduce her but ended up killing her. The text was funny too... Something along the lines of "you're planning on using that on me" talking about my knife, but because I was about to seduce her I thought she was referring to my penis for a minute until I realised I was on a kill screen.

As I said in the OP not the first time I've done something like this. I killed my wife once instead of seducing her too.

No, I read those carefully and ended up dead once after I clicked the seduce button.

I ve read at some forum guide to be carefull of inviting people with high intrigue.

Unlike most of the events in the game, this one doesn't take stats, traits, or opinions into account. The only thing is that the AI must have a certain amount of intrigue before the choice to murder is unlocked. So basically there is an equal chance for the AI to choose any of the options.

I wish I knew this a little bit earlier. My frail giant crusader queen of Egypt managed to conquer Jerusalem, Mecca, and North Africa. Then she reconquered her brother's kingdom of most of Europe's coastline and formed the Empire of Scandinavia after a little bit of holy war in Finland, only to end up getting knifed by some genius she was trying to have a kid with behind her husband's back at age 35.

I guess private conversation isn't the safest way to get genius trait.
