Potentially a fate worse than the death it caused.
I remember when I started playing as a Norse Chief and kept dying to the Norse Duel events. Didn't seem to matter how awesome my character was it was a total coin toss.....I even purposely cheated once, gave my character Duelist, brawny, brave, strong, immortal, ect....and made my opponent blind, one armed, one legged, craven, stressed, depressed, cancer, infirm, and eunich.......still died.
Glad they fixed that.
A 58 really isn't that good, there are duelists with 100+ regularly, take that into context, 58 is just competent.
Darn I laughed more than I should have at this. :D
Since duels have random elements there will always be the odd occasion of the cripple at the brink of death who kills the legendary duelist. It's only to be expected considering how many people play CK2.
Based on my own experiences combined with what I've read from other players, though, these odd results tend to happen a bit too often for me to feel comfortable just attributing it to random chance.
He never did. Ever. The empire got locked in endless civil wars at one point for the next century and I could never even declare war because muh enforced peace/muh vassal wars are BANNED.
I lost an eye trying to murder an 18 year old girl with a physical deformity and the only thing I got from my plans was the eye plucked out and stuck as a lowly count waiting for everyone to stop trying to put the emperor's entire extended pissant progeny line on the throne.
Disclaimer; she was so deformed and mutilated after our duels that she died within a week of the second one, I was only lightly wounded in the first, lost an eye in the second, and my magical Jew made sure that I was good as new within a few months.
I miss my magical Jew. He saved me from every illness I ever contracted.
