Question about chinese strategist?

Might be a stupid question, but does my chinese strategist need to be a marshal or commander to teach traits to other commanders? Or do i just leave him in my court doing nothing?

Depending on his stats, he could be useful as a commander or a marshall. I have found that they make excellent commanders do to thier unique abilities, however you should know as a marshall they can train your other commanders to have those traits.

Strategists from china will automaticly train commanders to have chinese martial traits over time, they do not need to be a commander or marshall to do this

if you make them a commander thats one less being taught, so unless you really need them fighting its better to have them as a marshall or doing something else than commanding,\

always make your heir(s) have a stint as commanders to get educated, it never hurts.

but i like leading armys as my rulers if the succession is safe.
