Feudal to Imperial
Never done this before, whats the pros and cons?
It says feudal vassals will have a negative opinion, can they switch to imperial?

If you mean viceroyaltiies, feudal people will frown upon them. But you can bury feudal dukes under a viceroy king and their opinion becomes irrelevant.

When I convert to imperial, will all my vassals do the same or are they stuck at feudal.

And I remember when I swapped from tribal to feudal it was virtually suicidal going to 0 army, will that happen again.

With the exception of adopting Chinese Imperialism, there is no such conversion. You seemingly are mistaking the imperial administration law, which is NOT a form of government. Even adopting Chinese Imperialism or playing the Byzantine Emperor's Imperial Elective government is just a specialized form of feudal.

What if you form the HRE, I'm torn between doing both those things, switching to imperial in the law, and forming hre, I'm in a position to do both but holding off, but I have no idea what will happen and its iron man.

I'm trying to paint the map and I need more vassal space, but dont want to screw things up messing around with things I dont understand

You better understand and be adept at Princely Elective succession if you opt to form the HRE. Even as the HRE, you will want imperial administration law to take advantage of viceroyalties and additional vassal limits. I assume you are Catholic then, so I'd aim for creating the Outremer and adopting Outremer culture unless you have specific role playing goals or are already a culture with a superior cultural retinue.

Imperial admin is just a law which makes vassals have -10 opinion malus. The benefits of the law (like viceroyalties) far outweigh this. And all empires have access to it. Not just the HRE or Roman.

The HRE just have a special succession law and more vassal limit. Otherwise it plays like a regular feudal realm.
